Guitar Signed And Played By EDDIE VAN HALEN Being Auctioned For Charity

October 25, 2007

Rachel May of the Detroit Free Press reports that a guitar signed and played by Eddie Van Halen is one of 30 autographed guitars up for auction at the Stars Guitars benefit set for Saturday at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts in Clinton Township.

Among the items up for grabs are guitars autographed by Les Paul, Bob Seger, BIG & RICH, FALL OUT BOY, Paul Rodgers, Eddie Van Halen, DEF LEPPARD, LINKIN PARK, Stevie Nicks, Yoko Ono and more.

Dennis DeYoung, formerly of the rock group STYX, along with a 32-piece orchestra, will provide the musical entertainment. The fund-raising event, assembled by Dr. Chuck A. Main of Beaumont Hospital, with assistance from a slew of volunteers, grants college scholarships to survivors of childhood cancer.

Since the scholarship's inception in 1992, 88 children have been awarded more than $400,000.

Casual attire is suggested. Admission is $100 and includes a strolling dinner; a $150 ticket includes valet parking and beverage tickets.

A full list of items available for auction is posted at www.starsguitars.org.
